Wool 'n Weave would like to thank each person who made and continue to make baby jerseys, blankets and beanies for the Robin Hood Foundation. We have handed over many, many jerseys to the Foundation all knitted by our caring customers.
Sadly, the need continues.

Just after we started our project, Elna Fraser came into Wool ‘n Weave and bought a ‘Care Pack’ to make a baby vest and beanie. Imagine our surprise and joy 6 weeks later when Elna Fraser and Peggy Foley, both from Richmond Women’s Institute arrived at the shop with 97 vests and beanies, each set packed in its own little packet with a note from the WI.
Along with the garments came the heart-warming story of how the oldest lady who knitted is 97 while the youngest is among a group of form 7 pupils from the local school. The ladies had tears in their eyes as they told us of one of their members who, on her deathbed knitted a vest and beanie. How special that the last thing this lady did was to bless someone in need whose life has just begun.
The Richmond and Wartburg Ladies have been making jerseys and beeanies for a number of years now, we long ago lost count of how many but it must be thousands.
If you live close to Richmond and would like more details on this incredible group, please contact: Elna on 072 711437 or Peggy on 084 3818243
Our local Hillcrest Women’s Institute has two knitting groups that meet monthly to knit for charity. Send us an email if you would like more details.
And remember, you can donate all your unused yarn, even small scraps, to these ladies.
Wool ‘n Weave support the Robin Hood Foundation and applaud them for the wonderful work they are doing among the poor. Please check out their web site - www.robinhoodfoundation.co.za
